Dear family, friends and all our Camp Met Family!
As we celebrate our 20th year at Camp Metamorphosis Ontario, I wanted to extend my thanks to all those who have been part of our family over these last two decades. Many wonderful memories have been made through this expression of our faith and our culture. Camp Met, a not-for-profit organization, continues to strive towards providing ministry and programs to Orthodox Christian Youth in local communities throughout Ontario. As a camp ministry catering to youth between the ages of 10-18 years old, our mission statement is “To gather our Orthodox youth for a one-week session during which they will be able to enjoy Orthodox Christian fellowship with one another and grow in the faith through participation in fun and interactive activities.” Every year, our dedicated Executive Board and counselors volunteer their time to make this mission a reality.
Camp is a necessary asset to these children’s lives. Camp Met is designed to reach out to our youth. We aim to help guide them spiritually, and show them a more outdoor natural setting, detaching them from the world of electronic distractions. We promote interactions with Youth from all over the province, encouraging new friendships, strengthening old friendships, and growing together spiritually. Our goal is to have each camper return to their homes with a greater understanding and appreciation of their faith and culture, and in turn, become more faithful and active members of their Orthodox Church.
Over the last several years the camp has grown. Just a few years ago, we were happy to enroll ten applicants on the first day and continued accepting campers until the last day. A few years later, camp is selling out in 9 minutes and filling a second week.
Though we have been able to find campers much more easily, we have noticed that finding counselors has become challenging. We understand the pressures of life today with work or summer school and for this reason, we began paying our staff last year. This is, however, taxing on our finances.
Our goal is to offset our costs and expand our mission and services in the community and therefore, we are inviting you and your organization to consider sponsoring this wonderful ministry. Your support will help with sending underprivileged children to enjoy the Camp Met experience, equipment for running activities such as arts and crafts, athletics, and Camp Olympics, as well as keeping the costs of operations low. As a sponsor, your business will be promoted on our T-shirts, website, Instagram and Facebook throughout the year.
Please respond by June 18th, 2018 in order to provide adequate time for printing of promotional materials.
I appreciate the time you have given to read this letter for our very worthy cause and I invite you to take a look at our website for more information and encourage you to watch our videos showing our week in review. Please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] for any questions or concerns.
With heartfelt thanks,
Camp Metamorphosis Ontario
